Question: How can I get my tire data from my Pocket PC to Desktop PC?

Answer: You can transfer your recorded data from your Pocket PC directly to your PC using Active Sync and then analyze your data in detail using your TyreSense software.

Question: Will I need to purchase my TyreSense software separately?

Answer: No. A copy of the TyreSense software will be included with your purchase. We also will contact you directly when updated versions are available for sale and offer download access.

Question: How many wheel positions does the TyreSense System support?

Answer: The TyreSense system can monitor 12 different wheel positions, but because it is so versatile - RIMEX can custom make systems that have the ability to monitor up to 50 different wheel positions.

Question: What happens when a wheel sensor goes down?

Answer: In the unlikely event that a Tyresense sensor fails, the receiving unit will identify the wheel position with the failed sensor. We recognize the importance to minimize down time while keeping the system fully operational. If a user has screw in sensors that require total deflation of the tire to change the sensor, we recommend that a PT valve sensor be installed instead. These sensors take only a few minutes to install and do not require tire deflation. A new screw in sensor can be installed at the next tire change.

TyreSense screw in sensors require tire deflation to replace, they do not require tire de mounting, as is necessary with most other competitor's systems.

Question: What are the procedures at tire change for the wheel sensors?

Answer: Below are the procedures at tire change for all TyreSense Sensors:

3/4 NPT Flush Mount and OEM Sensor
These sensors require no special attention a tire change. The only consideration would be the battery life remaining in the sensor. If the battery status is ok as indicated by the battery icon, proceed with the tire replacement as normal.

Pt Valve Mount Sensor
These sensors can remain on the valve throughout the tire change. If the unit has super large or Z bore valves, the sensor will need to be removed, to use a high flow inflator such as a IN-80A. The PT core housing is compatible with all newer inflators purchased since 2001. After reinstalling the sensor if it was removed, soap test the connection for leaks. If a leak is evident loosen the nut and rock the sensor back and forth on the valve to center the o-rings. The small hole in the PT valve will never plug if their are no air leaks.

3/4 NPT Through Hole Sensor
This sensor protrudes through the wheel into the tire cavity, this sensor installs on the bottom of a De-Fuzer valve. It is recommend that this sensor be removed before a tire is removed from the wheel. The replacement tire should then be remounted before replacing the sensor back into the wheel. It is possible to change the tire with a sensor left in the wheel, providing tire service personal know it is their and extra care is taken.

Patch Sensor
If the tire is being replaced unthread the sensor from the patch and install a new patch in the replacement tire. Simply re and re the sensor with a tire changeover.
All sensitive electronic components are potted in a durable epoxy resin, Tyresense sensors will not be damaged by additives inside the tire, or cleaning the wheel at a tire changeover.

Question: What happens if I do not have the proper holes drilled into my wheels to install a sensor?

Answer: TyreSense 3/4 NPT sensors install in a hole that is feasible to drill and tap on site. Rimex also offers a OEM wheel with TyreSense sensors already installed in a 1 1/16-12 machined and threaded O-ring sealed bore. Two other options would be our PT valve mount sensor or our tire patch sensor.

All TyreSense sensors are compatible with each other. Fox example a user could have a mixture of sensor styles on one truck.
